You kept hundreds of political prisoners warm this winter
08.10.2026
Hello!
You’re incredible! 🫶
On 23 September we launched an appeal for warm clothes for political prisoners. Our target was €5,000, and we secretly hoped to reach €7,000.
At the end of last week we added it all up: you donated more than €24,000 to keep warm people you don’t know — strangers, really — who are behind bars for their views.
Don’t think of these figures in the abstract! With this money, volunteers and political prisoners’ relatives will buy hundreds of warm socks and mittens, wool insoles and gloves, dozens of pairs of shoes and sets of thermal underwear. Soon someone in a cell will open a parcel with trembling hands and take out a new jacket that will finally let them go out for daily exercise and breathe fresh air. Women in colonies will receive parcels with thermal underwear that will help them stay healthy in prison.
One political prisoner’s mother has already ordered insoles, gloves, socks and other warm things for her daughter, and they’ll reach her very soon:

[…], hello. How are you? The September money arrived. Thank you!!! You asked for receipts for the transfers and purchases. Now we’re waiting for this order of warm clothes for […], which she asked for, and dried fruit and nuts.

Dozens of people will be more comfortable this winter only thanks to you — kind, caring people. Thank you!
We’ve closed the warm clothes appeal, and soon the clothes will reach political prisoners. But our work goes on. The Marathon will keep going until the last innocent person walks free from Russian prisons.
Support political prisoners by setting up a recurring donation!
Kind regards,
